It’s in the Little Things by Gayle Suzanne is a collection of her own personal stories ranging from the funny, raw (sometimes mature) moments of her life to her heavier, harder times. These accounts are loosely connected by the theme of emotional growth, especially as related to bullying and personal image hardships.
My favorite part of the book was the story of peeling the banana. I would have loved to see more of that perspective. In this memory of her time spent with Meals on Wheels, Suzanne captures perfectly the title of her book, It’s in the Little Things.
Those with similar experiences as Suzanne will find camaraderie flowing from her anecdotes that fill the pages of It’s in the Little Things.
*Note: I was given a copy of the book and asked to give an honest review
