Colossians 3:12-14 NKJV

“Put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”

And Jesus Gave to Us | All Remains Praise

December 12, 2017 - Author: Bernadette Saddik

“And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, ‘Take, eat: this is My body.’
And He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
And He said unto them, ‘This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.'” Mark 14:22-24 KJV

I cut my hair
my heart
one day.
Bled tears of joy
more tears of pain.

What sorrow, Lord,
is this I taste?

“Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance.” Psalm 90:8 KJV

Lord, cut the
bindings from my head.
Lord, bleed away
my dreams misled.

What spaces, Lord,
have You so graced?

“Return, O Lord! How long?…O, satisfy us early with Thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:13a, 14 NKJV

I cut into
much doubt
much rage.
Bled tears of youth
and tears of age.

What sweetness, Lord,
makes way, makes haste?

“Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish Thou the work of our hands upon us…” Psalm 90:17a, b KJV

Lord, cut the
shackles from my hands.
Lord, bleed away
my misplaced plans.

What sickness, Lord,
bides far from waste?

“Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil…So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:15, 12 KJV

There will be nothing left, save
for myself now saved…
yet out of all the remains,
for this to remain…

Most Holy God,
my God,
is a gift. A gift I will
strive and race and run to lift
to You in praise
for the rest of my days in
forever as I
–Lord have mercy–
as I pray to proclaim:

Blessed be the name of the LORD
from this time forth,
and even forever more.

“O King of kings and Lord of lords,
how great is Thy goodness!
To the praise of the glory of His grace,
wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved,
blessed be the name of the LORD
from this time forth and even forever more.”
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, Amen.

1 Timothy 6:15, Psalm 31:19, Ephesians 1:6, Psalm 113:2 KJV

Living Words | Proclaiming Christ

April 23, 2017 - Author: Bernadette Saddik

The ever-presence of God’s Love in His Gift of Praise

If a picture is worth a thousand words
Then avert your two eyes from me when you demand silence
For countless words erupt with each shuddering gasp

Ergo miss the accompanying timbrel and dance.

If a picture is worth a thousand words
Then aim your soul’s eye beyond now when you demand answers
For countless strains roar from Saviour’s bleeding Gift

Elseways miss the revelatory mighty acts and Breath.

I see so much
I hear too much
I say enough…

Lord above all I pray
let me live these, the loudest Word amidst
the dying cacophony of the world and
the swelling harmonies of the angels…

Christ is risen.

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
Psalm 150:6 KJV

Breathe, Sing, Dance | Alive in Christ

April 22, 2016 - Author: Bernadette Saddik

“…for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.” Hosea 10:12b KJV

Heart sing, come dance, breathe again, vibrant and alive.
Heart dance, come breathe, sing again, vibrant and alive.
Heart breathe, come sing, dance again, vibrant and alive.

Lift your weary head.
Feel the weight release.
Stand up straight,
and pour out all the anguishing debris.

Let’s breathe soundly to salvation-hued freedom tunes.
Lord have mercy. Have mercy on us. Hear us and have mercy.

Breathe in
(Kyrie)
Breathe out
(Eleison)
Inhale and exhale, inhale and exhale
Have mercy.
Lord hear us.
Have mercy O Lord.

Look up at the sky.
Feel the glowing light.
Be still, soul,
and dance tenderly, anxious beating heart.

Let’s sing a deep-rising hymn of our faithful Friend.
Sing heartbeat — lub dub, lub dub, lub dub.

Softly
(Lub dub)
Tenderly
(Lub dub)
For Jesus calls earnestly
Lub dub,
Heartbeat
Sing.

Come dance in the rain.
Feel the raindrops cleanse.
Embrace the grace
and the bright hope falling into place.

Let’s dance in the circle of God’s unending love.
Rain on me, Lord. Rain in me, Lord. Reign in me, Lord.

Eastward
(Rain)
Westward
(Rain)
Throughout the spaces in between
Rain on,
Rain in,
Reign in me Lord.

Let Christ restore green pastures,
And so sing and dance and breathe in joy again.

Vibrant and Alive.

“I will sing unto the Lord, because He hath dealt bountifully with me.” Psalm 13:6 KJV

Deeper than Words | This I Pray to You, Lord Jesus

August 8, 2015 - Author: Bernadette Saddik

Forgive me Father, I have and will continue to fail.
Let not my mistakes be a stumbling block.
Let them be an opportunity to learn.
And as I lag behind when I fall,
And as I struggle to stand,
Pass Me Not O gentle Saviour!

For, in You is my every good thought, word, deed.
You Who are Goodness.
You Who raise me up.
You Who rose from the deepest grave.
Be my high tower.
Help me see the destination You see.
And, in so doing, strengthen me as I journey.
Be Thou My Vision.

Fill my being, Lord, with Your lovingkindness.
Fill me beyond what I can carry now.
Not to my personal limits, but to the potential You created in me.
And, in so doing, grow me.
Grow me forever that I may approach nearer to You.
Nearer My God, to Thee.

Direct my mind and heart to You.
Show the evidence of Your glory in every moment.
The joys in the little things.
In the big things.
The joys realized through trials.
Brought through success.
The joys in Your holy plans.
How Great Thou Art!

And, when I tire — tire of speaking, tire of writing, tire of thinking…
When these hurt because I don’t know what to say, write, or think…
(Because how can I possibly translate the explosions of internal expression that words do not and cannot contain?)…
Translate for me, and lift me in Your rest.
‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.

Make me to know the comfort of Your presence.
Banish the loneliness.
Banish the sorrow.
Banish the holes.
They do not belong where You, Almighty God, are welcome.
And You are welcome in my life.
I need You in my life.
I Need Thee Every Hour!

“Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto Thee daily. Rejoice the soul of Thy servant: for unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee. Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon Thee: for Thou wilt answer me.” Psalm 86:3-7 KJV
